Abstract
This is the final report of a four-year project intended to develop a sediment budget for the Le Sueur River watershed in southern Minnesota. Primary funding for the work was provided by the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA) with additional funding from the National Center for Earth-surface Dynamics, a Science and Technology Center funded by the National Science Foundation and housed at the St. Anthony Falls Laboratory of the University of Minnesota. The motivation for the work arises from the need to address elevated levels of suspended solids in the Minnesota River and related water quality problems and infilling of Lake Pepin on the Mississippi River, although this research project focuses specifically on sediment in the Le Sueur River watershed...
