About Olivier Chatain

Olivier Chatain studies how firms interact with their competitive environment, and seeks to develop value-based foundations for business strategy. He has applied and developed this approach to study how client-specific value creation affects firm strategy and the deployment of their key resources. His research has also investigated how firms shape their competitive environment thanks to non-market strategies and interventions in markets for strategic resources. His current research builds on these insights to analyze business ecosystems and platforms and how firms increasingly interact with state and non-state actors beyond the economic sphere.
