Professor Gershenson earned her doctorate in Communication in the United States, her
master’s degree in Israel, and her bachelor’s degree in Russia. 

She is the author of Gesher: Russian Theatre in Israel; A Study of Cultural Colonization
(Peter Lang, 2005) and co-editor of Ladies and Gents: Public Toilets and Gender (Temple
UP, 2009). Her essays have appeared in such journals as Jewish Cultural Studies, Journal
of Modern Jewish Studies, Journal of Film and Video, Multilingua, Western Journal of
Communication, Journal of International Communication and several anthologies. She is now
working on a book about the representation of the Holocaust in Russian cinema. 

Professor Gershenson teaches courses about Jewish, Israeli, and Palestinian cultures.
