Dr Thamwattana received her BSc (Hons 1) in Mathematics at Mahidol University, Thailand, in 2000. She undertook her PhD in Applied Mathematics at the University of Wollongong and graduated with a thesis titled, ‘Some Analytical Solutions for Problems Involving Highly Frictional Granular Materials' in 2005. In 2007 Dr Thamwattana was awarded an Australian Postdoctoral Fellowship from the Australian Research Council to develop mathematical models for applications of nanomaterials in biology and medicine. Dr Thamwattana was promoted to Senior Lecturer in 2011 Field of Study: Electrorheological fluids, mechanics of nanostructures, mechanics of granular materials, Calculus of variations for protein folding. Currently working in nanomechanical areas to develop new mathematical models, which can be used for improving and developing nanotechnology Current Research Students: - Hakim Al Garalleh - Fainida Rahmat - Nawa Alshammari
