Dr. Jean Anderson came to Boise State in 2011 with more than 30 years of experience in RN and advanced practice nursing roles across a broad spectrum of clinical and military adult health care settings. Her adult nurse practitioner work has focused on internal medicine primary care, most recently specializing in sleep medicine. Prior to coming to Boise State, she was an assistant clinical professor at Northern Arizona University where she received the Best New Teacher award. She has earned a doctorate of nursing practice (DNP) from Arizona State University, a M.S.N. from the University of California, San Francisco, and a B.S.N. from California State University, Sacramento. Her current scholarly work is focused on educational programs for adults with sleep apnea to improve positive airway pressure therapy, integration of evidence-based practice at the point of care, and facilitating expert nurse clinicians' transition into the novice doctoral student role.
