About Nadia Rubaii

Dr. Nadia Rubaii has extensive consulting experience with local governments, nonprofit organizations, and graduate public affairs programs around the world, with a particular emphasis in Latin America. She is actively involved in national and international professional associations in the field of public affairs. She served as the President of the National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration, and currently is on the Executive Council of the Inter-American Network of Public Administration Education (INPAE) and the Advisory Council for Graduate Education of the International City/County Management Association (ICMA). In 2013-14 Dr. Rubaii received a prestigious Fulbright Scholar award to Colombia where she taught classes and workshops at Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogota, and conducted research on the state of Colombian public affairs education. From 1989 until 2004, Dr. Rubaii was on the faculty at New Mexico State University, where she also served as MPA director. Dr. Rubaii's research focuses on how local government managers can more effectively respond to increasing diversity among employees and the population, how public affairs programs can most effectively prepare the next generation of public service professionals, and the opportunities and barriers to international accreditation in public affairs.
