Abstract
The channel that encoders choose when communicating with someone from a culture that is different from theirs should depend upon an analysis of both countries' macro environmental, organizational environmental, and economic environmental similarities and differences. This paper presents a model that shows how these three variables fit into the communication model for cross-cultural communication and help to determine the correct channel to use. If the correct channel is chosen, then cross-cultural communication is more likely to improve in quality.
