The American Prospect (2010)
  • Michael Greenberger
Abstract

The recent financial crisis was caused in large part by the opaque and unregulated over-the-counter derivatives market. This article takes readers through the history of derivatives regulation from the Great Depression up until the passage of the House version of the Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act.
