My current research interests are in two area and cross the age spectrum. My work in balance and fall prevention has been an ongoing association with Jewish Community housing for the Elderly. We have been collecting data to identify fall risks and developing intervention programs to prevent falls. Most recently, I have collaborated with engineering faculty to develop modeling of fall risks for prediction of falls. The other area of interest in in prevention of obesity/overweight in pre-school children in partnership with Head Stat Programs of South Boston. The Northeastern physical therapy piece is to develop physical activity programs for children and their teachers and determine the outcome of these interventions.
