Melissa (Kozel) Gains joined the Reference faculty of Albertsons Library at Boise
State University in 2005. She has a Master's of Library Science from Emporia State
University and a B.A. in Communication from Boise State University. Melissa's
earlier experiences as a researcher for a consulting company and as a Business Librarian
at Micron Technology in Boise, give her a unique perspective for her current
responsibilities as library liaison to the departments of Accountancy, Economics,
Information Technology and Supply Chain Management, and Marketing & Finance. In
addition to her work with the Reference Department, Melissa has explored new ways to
connect library resources to students through mobile technologies, promotional
presentations at campus events, and providing onsite reference in the Business Building,
at the Writing Lab, and the Student Success Center. She is active in the Idaho Library
Association and the American Library Association, and shares her experience through
presentations and publications.
