Japanese media law update: the new copyright management business law

Abstract
This article explains the new Japanese law relating to the collective administration of rights. It provides an outline of the old law, the Law of Intermediary Business Concerning Copyright, explains the problems that led the old Law to be repealed and gives an overview of the new law, the Copyright Management Business Law. The article also points out anticipated problems that the new Law may create.
