Physical chemist Matthew Kubasik has been a member of the Fairfield University
faculty since 2000. He has served on the University's Faculty Salary Committee, Rank
and Tenure Committee, and as Chair of the Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. In
2010, he received the George Lang Award for service to the University. 

Professor Kubasik's scientific research has been supported by the American Chemical
Society, Research Corporation, Pfizer and the National Science Foundation. He has
routinely supervised Fairfield undergraduate students in his laboratory. Several of these
students have appeared as co-authors on his publications in the chemical literature. 

Professor Kubasik holds a B.A. in Chemistry from Swarthmore College and a Ph.D. in
Physical Chemistry from Cornell University.
