Martha Meacham, MLIS, MA, is a Library Fellow in the Lamar Soutter Library at
University of Massachusetts Medical School. Martha received her Master of Science in
Library and Information Science, with a concentration in archival studies, and a Master
of Arts in History, with an emphasis on medical history, from Simmons College in Boston.
Martha has worked in a variety of medical settings including in the Patient Resource
Library at Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and with the Association of American Medical
Colleges. Martha is interested in Library education, evaluation, and marketing. Martha
was the recipient of the New Voices Award for her presentation at the 2012 Medical
Library Association conference in Seattle. Previously, Martha earned her BS in Psychology
and worked as a mental health counselor. Martha is a member of Beta Phi Mu, the
International Library & Information Studies Honor Society, and Psi Chi, the
International Honor Society in Psychology.
