Mark K. McBeth is the co-author (with Randy S. Clemons, Mercyhurst College) of the
widely adopted public policy analysis text Public Policy Praxis: A Case Approach for
Understanding Policy and Analysis (New York: Longman, 2nd edition, 2009). His research
from 2000-2011 focused on the impact of policy narratives in explaining public policy
conflict and intractability. Much of this research used the Greater Yellowstone Ecosystem
as case material for such conflict. The narrative research lead to the introduction of a
Narrative Policy Framework as an explanatory theory of public policy formation,
development, and implementation.

Recently he has published research (with co-authors) on interest group lobby evolution,
the relationship between citizenship literature and public policy framing, and how
interest groups use indirect lobbying tactics over a decade. Currently, he is working on
a study of how an interest group uses Youtube videos as a form of indirect lobbying.
