About Marie-Elena Barry

Joining Boise State University in 2015, Marie-Elena Barry, DNP, RN is a Clinical Assistant Professor for the Department of Nursing. She received her DNP. from Chatham University, a MSN in Nursing Leadership and Management from Stevenson University, a Graduate Certificate in the Business of Nursing from John’s Hopkins Schools of Nursing and Professional Studies in Business and Education, a BSN from the College of Notre Dame of Maryland, and an ASN from Catonsville Community College. Professor Barry is currently affiliated with the American Nurses Association and the Alzheimer’s Association. Among her accomplishments are developing a pressure-ulcer-prevention program, centered on evidence-based practice in a community hospital, and developing and implementing a unit-based competency program in order to streamline organizational compliance.
