Abstract
Moonrise: The Power of Women Leading from the Heart offers the multi-hued perspectives of our most prominent leader-activists, thinker-mothers, scientist-economists,doctor-healers, and poet-philosophers. Editors Nina Simons and Anneke Campbell have assembled a motivating collection of essays and stories describing personal responses by women and a few men to our generously abundant yet sometimes unjust world. Reading them, a collective voice emerges: one of rage over profiteering destruction of the natural world, vast economic imbalances, and oppression of the powerless, leavened by warmth, humor, and studious knowledge of the interwoven complexity of systems that can both serve and destroy. These people do not sit around and mope; they rise like the moon.
