I am a PhD Candidate at the School of International Studies, University of Trento
(Italy). My main research interests cover international human rights and refugee law, EU
migration law, and international law of treaties. I am writing a thesis that lies at the
intersection of border control strategies and refugee protection under international and
European human right law, with the aim to investigate whether core refugee rights may be
impaired by the implementation of bilateral agreements linked to readmission. I have been
a Visiting Fellow at the Centre of Migration Law at Radboud University, Nijmegen, (The
Netherlands) and I am a Doctoral Affiliate to the Refugee Law Initiative, School of
Advanced Study, University of London (UK). I have an LLM (Master of Law) in Human Rights
Law from the Queen Mary, University of London and an MA in International Sciences from
the University of Messina (Italy). I have served as an intern at the Italian Consulate in
London, and have both worked and volunteered for human rights NGOs. Currently, I am a
Visiting Fellow at the Faculty of Law at Lund University where I am conducting research
in the field of migration and refugee law thanks to a Scholarship awarded by the Swedish
Institute.

During my stay as a Visiting PhD Candidate in Lund, I have written the following papers:
