A native of Mexico, María Solange Marqueo's own research interests are in the area of economic regulatory law, public international law and law and economics. She received a law degree from the Escuela Libre de Derecho, and a master's in law degree summa cum laude from the Universidad de Salamanca. She currently directs the law and economics program at the Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas.
