I am a professor of Educational Technology with a joint appointment within both the College of Education and the College of Engineering at California Polytechnic State University. My current academic focus is advanced technologies to enhance and support learning among K-12 kids. I have a particular interest in technologies that support Constructivist Learning Environments such as the use of digital moviemaking, robotics, and mobile computing within K-12 classrooms. I also have a deep interest in developing and deploying interactive museum exhibits to support creative learning within children’s museums and other location-based learning environments. I received undergraduate, masters, and doctoral degrees from the Stanford University, with my specialty being design and human-computer interaction. My doctoral work focused on the design of immersive user-interface systems that enhance human performance and understanding.
