I am well known internationally as a researcher within the field of Music Education and have made a major contribution to this field. My research examines the development of a collaborative learning environment. It involves a unique model which has been recognised internationally. I learn and perform new repertoire for voice on an ongoing basis. Since 2006, I have premiered nationally and internationally 9 new Australian compositions. I have also published research on the preparation and performance of new work (Latukefu, 2008). I have developed a distinctive canon of contemporary songs that engage inter-culturally with Asian and Pacific cultures in order to develop the concept of an Asian-Pacific identity within art music and in particular song.
