Abstract
Weather is one of the major factors affecting aviation safety and should be a major component of every pilot’s flight planning. Aviation Weather with Augmented Reality provides the reader the opportunity to engage with immersive content in several ways through striking graphics, animation, video, courses, quiz, and 3D content with interactive opportunities. To see the augmented content, you will need to download the free WeatherXplore application from the Google Play or Apple iTunes store. This book is intended to help improve aviation weather knowledge, correlation of weather theory and awareness of developing hazards by providing, where possible, enhanced graphics using augmented reality. Research has shown that many pilots, especially General Aviation (GA) pilots, have a very limited understanding of aviation weather and have not had the opportunity to see developing hazardous weather until they fly into it. This book includes information from the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Advisory Circulars 00-6B and AC 00-45H chg. 1/2, published by the FAA Flight Standards Service (AFS), with contributions from the National Weather Service (NWS).
