Linda J. Walton has worked in a variety of health sciences libraries including hospitals and academic. For several years she was the associate director of regional offices for the National Network of Libraries of Medicine, a regional outreach program of the National Library of Medicine. Ms. Walton came to the University of Iowa Libraries-Hardin Library for the Health Sciences from Northwestern University where she had been the associate director of the Galter Health Sciences Library for nine years. Her career has focused on the use of technology in libraries and outreach to the health care community. Ms. Walton has been the lead on several grants and subcontracts primarily from the National Library of Medicine and the National Network of Libraries of Medicine. She has written several articles that have appeared in the Journal of the Medical Library Association and Medical Reference Services Quarterly. Ms. Walton is the recipient of the Medical Library Associations’ Academic Medical Librarian of the Year and has been a Leadership Fellow awarded by the Association of Academic Health Sciences Libraries. She is currently on the Board of the Medical Library Association. Ms. Walton received her B.A. and her M.L.S. from Indiana University.
