Dr. Halisky was appointed Dean of the College of Liberal Arts in April 2006. She
served as interim dean from August 2004 - April 2006. Dr. Halisky came to Cal Poly as an
assistant professor of English in 1984. She was appointed full professor in 1993. Dr.
Halisky served as chair of the English Department from 1994 - 2000. From January 2002
until August 2004 she served as director of the London Study Program and International
Education and Programs. 

Dr. Halisky earned her B.A. at Whittier College in 1968, M.A. from the University of
California, Riverside in 1978, and her Ph.D. from the University of California, Riverside
in 1984.
