Preservice Teachers as Consumers and Producers of Research
Abstract
In this paper, I describe how preservice teachers engage as consumers and producers of research through our capstone research course. I begin by describing the capstone course and the major elements of the pedagogy I use to engage preservice teachers in reflection, inquiry and research. I elaborate more on these elements in relation to how preservice teachers became consumers and producers of research. Finally, I discuss the challenges in teaching this research course and conclude with proposition on how the challenges can be met.
