Dr. Tran received the following degrees: BEng (1st Hons, Highest Disctinction), MEng
(Highest Distinction), PhD (UOW). From 1997-2002 Dr. Tran undertook the role of lecturer
at the Faculty of Electronics and Telecommunications, University of Communication and
Transport, Vietnam while also working as a part-time engineer for Post &Telecom
Investment & Construction Joint-Stock Company (PTIC), Vietnam. This was followed by a
part-time teaching academic role at SECTE, UOW for the period 2002-2005 and then through
2005-2006 Dr. Tran joined the Wireless Technologies Laboratory (WTL), Faculty of
Informatics, UOW, as a postdoctoral fellow. Dr. Tran received an Alexander von Humboldt
(AvH) postdoctoral research fellowship award and spent the period 2006-2008 at the
University of Luebeck, Germany after which Dr. Tran returned to UOW as a lecturer in
Wireless Communications, SECTE, UOW. 

Field of Study: Wireless communications, mobile communications, space-time (frequency)
processing, antenna diversity techniques, MIMO systems and multi-user detection, channel
propagation modeling, UWB, spread spectrum techniques and applications, OFDM and MB-OFDM,
wireless sensor networks (WSNs), network coding, cooperative communications, wireless
body area networks (WBANs), Software-Defined Radio.
