About Lawrence Bergie

Lawrence is an innovative technology leader with his finger on the pulse of the DIY movement and the accelerating social entrepreneurship and social engineering sectors. He has been the Chief Information Officer at IMSA since January 2013 and is an active member of the IMSA president’s committee on Social Entrepreneurship.
He has 35+ years’ experience in the fields of engineering and information technology and has a diverse background in educational, consulting and corporate settings, with extensive experience in research, instructional and enterprise computing, and telecommunications. At IMSA, he oversees all technology, as well as sets IT strategies and coordinates infrastructure and service delivery across the Academy. He is also head coach and lead mentor of the IMSA Titan Robotics team, a FIRST Robotics Competition team, which designs and builds robots for international competitions, held annually.
Lawrence received a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from McMaster University, Hamilton, Ontario, Canada and a Master of Engineering in Chemical Engineering from the University of Toronto, Toronto, Ontario, Canada. He and his wife Viki currently live in Batavia, IL; they have four sons - Ross, Alex, Nick and Max.
