Dr. Laurie Drabble received a BA in Social work at California State University, Los
Angeles and a Masters in Social Work at California State University, Long Beach. She is
former Executive Director of the California Women´s Commission on Alcohol and Drug
Dependencies and has worked statewide and nationally as an organizational consultant
providing a wide range of technical assistance and training services related to women´s
alcohol and drug issues, alcohol/drug prevention strategies, strategic planning, and
non-profit management. She returned to school to earn a Ph.D. in Social Welfare and a
Masters in Public Health at the University of California, Berkeley. 

Among other activities, Dr. Drabble serves as an Affiliate Associate Scientist with the
Alcohol Research Group (ARG) in Berkeley, California and is a member of the California
Women´s Health Survey Committee of the California Department of Health Services. Her
research focuses on understanding alcohol and drug-related problems among women.
