About Kyunghye (Konhe) Yoon

Dr. Konhe Yoon joined St Kate in the Fall of 2012 from the State University of New York at Oswego where she was a faculty in the Information Science Program for 10 years. Konhe’s research and teaching interests include human information interaction in the web-based information systems and digital environment, which encompasses cognitive, linguistic, communicative and shared information seeking and use behaviors. Her research examines user's information meaning represented in various interaction contexts, such as reference interviews or social tagging and folksonomy of users in representing information content on social media. Currently, she is interested in the semiotics approach to information meaning with looking at online book reviews. Konhe is also interested in information access using technology as well as social and ethical implications of information and communication technologies. Her recent research include web usability and accessibility.

Since she came to the St Kate's MLIS program, Konhe has been leading to expand St Kate's Information Science curriculum at both graduate and undergraduate levels. She has involved with developing a new BA/BS Information Science and Technology program. Two undergraduate minors are currently offered through the MLIS Program: Digital Humanities Minor and Information Systems Minor.

She serves to the University Faculty Council with two sub-committees, Web Oversight Committee and Accessible Technology and Information Committee. She is a member of the University Liberal Arts Mission Advisory Committee. She is also working in the MLIS curriculum committee and facilities committee while leading the Information Science Task Force group.
