Representing the Australian Privacy Foundation at independent review Roundtable of Part 1D of the Crimes Act 1914: | Sydney, Australia
Abstract
Under section 23YV (5) of the Crimes Act 1914, a further independent review of Part 1D of the Crimes Act is being conducted. Part 1D provides for the collection and use of DNA material for law enforcement purposes and enables the inter-jurisdictional exchange of DNA data through the National Criminal Investigation DNA Database. The aim of the roundtables is to offer interested groups and individuals with the opportunity to provide input on issues that address the Terms of Reference for the Further Review of Part 1D.
