Grima: Faster Cataloging Using APIs
Ex Libris Users Group of North America (2019)
  • Kathryn Lybarger
Abstract
Alma may seem like just a regular web page, but there is another way to communicate with it: the API! In this talk, attendees will be briefly introduced to APIs (and Alma's API in particular) and the Grima software which can be used to speed up various cataloging tasks in Alma. Some of these tasks include: displaying records for printing, making changes to records by scanning in barcodes one at a time, editing sets of records, and creating boundwiths. Grima is free and open source, and includes many simple scripts which can be modified to suit your needs.
