In this essay, my mother (a professor of Women’s Studies) and I explore our relationships to feminism as a theory and as a political practice from our distinctive perspectives as Filipina and Filipina American. This book is the first full-length scholarly treatment of the experiences of Filipina women in the United States. I am developing a project on global feminism, the Philippines, and U.S. empire.
