About Karen Schmidt

Welcome! I am pleased to serve as University Librarian and University Copyright Officer at Illinois Wesleyan University Ames Library. Prior to coming to IWU in August, 2007, I worked for many years at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, mainly in the areas of collection development and library acquisitions, and also taught at the Graduate School of Library & Information Science. My research interests embrace collection development, including print and digital collections; library history; service learning and libraries; and the use of emerging technology in teaching and learning.
