In my role as Teaching and Learning Librarian, I am responsible for the development
of liaison librarian competencies in order to meet the Library’s role in the support and
development of student skills in information literacy, geospatial literacy, numeracy and
new media literacies.

I recently completed a second as Embedded Teaching and Learning Librarian at the Centre
for Leadership in Learning at McMaster, I am working within the campus’ teaching and
learning support unit to design and develop a course to improve student skills in digital
media literacy. I am also working on the creation of communities of practice for McMaster
instructors, aimed at developing a campus culture of scholarship in teaching and
learning, and supporting the effective use of educational technologies.

My interests include the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL), 21st century
literacies (information literacy, geospatial literacy, numeracy, new media literacies),
the pedagogy of games, academic integrity and corporate culture in higher
education.
