Julie Hensley’s poetry chapbook, The Language of Horses, is forthcoming from
Finishing Line Press as part of the New Women’s Voices Series. Her poems and stories
appear in Southern Women’s Review, PMS poemmemoirstory, Indiana Review, Quarterly West,
The Pinch, and Redivider, among other publications, and her work has been nominated for a
Pushcart Prize. Hensley has been twice honored by the Southern Women Writers Conference
for fiction in 2005 and for poetry in 2009. She holds an MFA from Arizona State
University and is a permanent faculty member of Eastern Kentucky University’s
brief-residency MFA program, the Bluegrass Writers Studio
