About Julie A. Blanchong

I am a wildlife ecologist primarily interested in the causes and consequences of disease in wildlife populations. I also conduct research in wildlife genetics. In my role as a teacher, I am both a source of information and a facilitator of student-driven discovery. I believe students must take responsibility for their learning, and become actively engaged in the pursuit of knowledge. In my courses, I introduce students to fundamental scientific concepts ('the facts') as well as provide activities that allow them to apply these concepts to real-world natural resource problems.
