About Julene L. Jones

Julene L. Jones is the Director of Library Assessment and Organizational Effectiveness Librarian at the University of Kentucky Libraries.  Her research areas are library assessment, particularly critical and ethical assessment, and supporting data-driven decisions as well as academic library mentoring. She is UK Libraries' sole independent contributor for personal and corporate authority records for NACO.  She earned a MS in Library and Information Science and a MA in Sociology, both from the University of Kentucky.  Prior to her current position, she was the Head of Database Integrity at the University of Kentucky Libraries for eight years and worked at Book Wholesalers, Inc, with her final position there being the Special Projects Coordinator in the Cataloging Department. Like her friend and colleague, Susan Wynne, her first approach to any problem in work or in life is to make a spreadsheet.
