Dr Shen received his BE (Computer Application), Southeast University, Nanjing, Jiangsu, P. R. China in 1995 and his PhD (Computer Science) also from his alma mater in 2001. Through 2001-2005 Dr Shen was funded by a Vice-Chancellor’s Initiative as a Post-doctoral Fellow at the Centre for Internet Computing and Electronic Commerce (CICEC), Faculty of information and Communication Technologies, Swinburne University of Technology, Melbourne. Dr Shen then joined the University of South Australia, Adelaide as a Research Fellow with the Advanced Computing Research Centre (ACRC), School of Computer and Information Science, this work being funded by ARC/CRC projects. In 2006 Dr Shen commenced lecturing in IT, teaching subjects on e-business and Web technologies, especially patterns, designs, integration, and Web services for e-business.
