Professor John Patterson has held the positions of Dean of the Faculty of Education from 1993- 1999; Dean of the Faculty of Health and Behavioural Science in 2000 - 2001; Acting Dean of the Faculty of Arts; and Interim Dean of Commerce. He was appointed as Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Operations), University of Wollongong (UOW) in May 2001 and as Senior Deputy Vice-Chancellor in April 2010.
