Professor Kanwar joins the faculty from private practice, where she was a senior
staff associate at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom LLP. Since 2001, she has
practiced in the areas of complex mass torts and insurance litigation; general
litigation; products liability; securities litigation; and general torts and contract
law. Before that, she was a legal information analyst at Lawnavigator.com. At Vermont Law
School, she was editor of Res Communes, Vermont Law School’s Environmental Journal; and
she won “Best Paper” in the J.B. Chase Writing Competition for her paper, “Preserving
Gypsy Culture through Romani Law in America,” which was published in the Vermont Law
Review in the spring of 2000.
