A native of Mexico, José Roldán Xopa's own pioneering research investigates how to square the deregulatory practices of an increasingly globalised market economy with the solidly established principles which are consonent with and indeed entrenched in Mexico's constitution. He earned a law degree at the Benemérita Universidad Autónoma de Puebla. He went on to earn a master's in law from the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana, Unidad Xochimilco and a doctorate in law from the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México. Recently made Dean of the law school of the Instituto Tecnológico Autónomo de México, he has visited at the Universidad Pompeu Fabra in Barcelona, Spain.
