A native of Mexico, José Antonio Lozano Díez's own research interests are in
the area of antitrust law, administrative law and law and economics. He earned a doctor
of laws degree from the Universidad de Navarra, in Spain. He holds a law degree from the
Universidad Panamericana, where he is Dean of the law school and committed to
experimentation and innovation in the way legal education is delivered. A research fellow
at the Sistema Nacional de Investigadores, he was formerly general counsel with the
Comisión Federal de Competencia, the Mexican Antitrust Commission, and senior counsel to
one of Mexico's top banking groups, Grupo BBVA Bancomer. A small sample of his
