A native of Mexico, Jorge Adame Goddard is a distinguished scholar of Roman law. He
earned his law degree from the Escuela Libre de Derecho, a doctor's degree in
history from the Colegio de México and a doctor of laws degree from the Universidad de
Navarra, in Spain. An arbitrator for the North American Free Trade Agreement, he teaches
Roman law at the Universidad Panamericana. A Fulbright scholar at the University of Texas
at Austin, he has led pioneering research promoting the value of Roman legal studies for
the purposes of international trade.
