Jolyn Van Etten is a Visiting Professor of Law and currently teaches Property. Prior to joining the Lincoln Memorial University Duncan School of Law, Professor Van Etten was an associate at Smith Closser, PA (formerly Smith & Koontz ) in Charleston, South Carolina. There, she practiced as a civil litigator, focusing primarily on mechanic’s liens, defective construction litigation, and contract disputes. Professor Van Etten graduated magna cum laude from the Charleston School of Law in 2007 as a member of the founding graduating class. During law school, Professor Van Etten served on the Honor Council as both Secretary and Vice Chairman, was a quarterfinalist in the National Tax Moot Court Competition, and was honored on the Dean’s List. Professor Van Etten holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication from the College of Charleston.
