John T. Wolohan joins the faculty of the Department of Sport Management as professor. Most recently, Wolohan served as a professor of sport management at Ithaca College and served as an adjunct instructor at Syracuse University in sport management. Prior to joining the faculty at Ithaca College, Wolohan served as an assistant professor and director of the Department of Sport Management at Iowa State and Rice Universities.
Wolohan’s expertise is in the area of sport law. With an extensive list of publications, his research has been published nationally and internationally including articles in International Sports Law Journal, the Journal of Legal Aspects of Sport, and the Journal of Sport Management as well as several law reviews and trade publications. In addition to writing several book chapters, Wolohan’s book, “Law for Recreation and Sport Managers,” is now in its fifth edition. Wolohan has presented at national and international conferences, and has provided workshops on a range of topics.
He is a member of several professional organizations including the American Bar Association and its Forum on the Entertainment and Sports Industries, the European Association for Sport Management, the Massachusetts Bar Association, The North American Society for Sport Management and the Sports Lawyers Association.
