Dr. John R. Mullin is the Dean of the Graduate School, Director of the Center for Economic Development, and a Professor in the Landscape Architecture and Regional Planning Department at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He is also President of Mullin Associates Incorporated, an active research and planning consultation practice that focuses upon studies, plans and recommendations concerning economic revitalization and industrial development. Dr. Mullin has a Bachelor of Arts in Government from the University of Massachusetts at Amherst; a Master's in City Planning from the University of Rhode Island; a Master's of Science in Business Administration from Boston University, and a Ph.D. in Regional Planning and Resource Development from the University of Waterloo in Canada. He is a Fellow of the American Institute of Certified Planners and a Senior Fulbright Scholar. Dr. Mullin has written or edited over 100 book chapters, book reviews, technical reports, journal articles, and conference proceedings. He also recently retired as a Brigadier General in the Massachusetts Army National Guard.
