Professionalizing The Write Room is a user friendly guide for web-based publishing
written in a conversational style.

In graduate school, I decided to create an online literary magazine with the intention of
publishing the work of my fellow students. The magazine quickly grew beyond its original
scope. Educating myself about publishing and the intimidating world of web design,
development, and marketing was my only option. Professionalizing The Write Room was
written as a primer, manual, and memoir about transitioning from newbie graduate student
to tech savvy editor.

“It is not enough to be well-intentioned; one must strive to put those intentions into
action in a capable way. One must consider the effect his actions will have on others.
Looked at like this, to persist in ignorance is itself dishonorable.” Andrew Cohen
