Abstract
What are the relationships between ideal patterns of traditional household formation and the frequencies of the actual experience. How do altering demographic variables affect the nexus of kin relationships experienced over the life cycle. The purpose of this paper is to examine these social processes within the family household structure from the viewpoint of cyclical and linear temporal perspectives by studying the South Slav extended family household.
