Assistant Professor Joan Petit is the Librarian for History, Black Studies, and
Judaic Studies and Library Outreach Coordinator at Portland State University. She holds
an MSLS from the University of North Carolina School of Information and Library Science,
an MA in English from Western Carolina University, and a BA in English and Women's
Studies from the University of North Carolina. 

Her research interests include technology in libraries, academic libraries' use of
social media, digital collections and libraries for student research, and library
instruction and reference.
