Dr. Jeri Bigbee joined the faculty of Boise State University in 2006, is the first
recipient of the JoAnna "Jody" DeMeyer Endowed Chair in Nursing, and is a
nationally recognized leader in rural nursing. Dr. Bigbee earned her doctorate from the
University of Texas at Austin and has been a nurse educator since 1980 in Wyoming, Nevada
and California. Her current research focuses on public health nursing in rural and
frontier communities. In addition to publishing, presenting, and teaching, Dr. Bigbee
provides leadership and mentoring related to research and scholarship for both faculty
and students.
