Abstract

Upon hearing the term "chicle," many people may envision child vendors selling colorful packets of Chiclets in the streets of Mexico City and elsewhere around the country. However, the history of chicle in Mexico spans thousands of years, as it was chewed by the ancient Maya and Aztecs.
